Mutual Capital Instruments (MCIs) are financial instruments that have been created exclusively for mutual entities. They enable certain mutual entities, like Australian Unity, to access permanent capital without compromising their status as a mutual entity and to decrease their sole reliance on retained profits as a source of new capital.
Following a successful advocacy campaign, changes were made in 2019 to the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) allowing mutual entities to issue MCIs. We were the first in Australia to issue MCIs (twice) and have raised over $350 million to date to drive business activities that underpin our commitment to delivering community and social value.
Australian Unity Bonds are debt instruments issued by Australian Unity Limited pursuant to the Base Prospectus and an Offer Specific Prospectus.
