Transitioning policy services to Australian Unity
The transition of policy services from Insignia Financial to Australian Unity has now been completed, effective Monday 27 October 2025.
You will receive registration instructions once the new portal becomes available.

Investment bonds are increasing in popularity due to their unique tax structure, providing investors with tax effectiveness, flexibility and accessibility. This means they may be used for a wide range of investment strategies including tax management, wealth accumulation, early retirement and estate planning.
IOOF WealthBuilder offers investors a comprehensive range of investment options to cater for different needs. The investment options employ a cross-section of investment strategies with different risk return profiles. Each of the WealthBuilder Funds invests in a different Underlying Managed Fund (UMF).

IOOF WealthBuilder– Closure to new investors - 7 July 2025
Following the acquisition of Australian Unity Life Bonds Limited (AULBL) (formerly IOOF Ltd ‘IOOF’) by Australian Unity Limited and the subsequent transfer of AULBL’s business to Lifeplan Australia Friendly Society Limited (‘Lifeplan’), we advise that Lifeplan, as the current issuer of the IOOF WealthBuilder investment bond, will close the product to new investors effective 29 August 2025.
From this date we will no longer accept or process applications for new investors into the IOOF WealthBuilder investment bond.
Acquisition of Australian Unity Life Bonds Limited (formerly IOOF Ltd)
We are pleased to announce that Australian Unity has acquired IOOF Ltd and its investment bond business from the Insignia Financial group, effective 31 October 2023. To ensure a smooth transition, Insignia Financial will continue to provide a number of services to Australian Unity under a transitional services agreement for a limited period.

As a part of this transition, IOOF Ltd has been renamed and rebranded to Australian Unity Life Bonds Limited (AULBL).
Transfer of Australian Unity Life Bonds Limited to Lifeplan Australia Friendly Society Limited

Australian Unity is committed to growing and investing in investment bond products that help our customers plan for key life events and milestones.
Following the acquisition, AULBL has operated alongside, but separate to, Australian Unity’s long-established friendly society, Lifeplan Australia Friendly Society Limited (LAFS).
An application to transfer all of AULBL’s business to LAFS was approved by the prudential regulator of both AULBL and LAFS, the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA), with effective date of 1 December 2024.
