Australian Unity has been recognised in the 2025 Finder Banking Awards for its Freedom Saver account, which took out the ‘No Conditions Savings Account’ category.

The Freedom Saver account was judged the winner by Finder’s panel of experts, who analysed some 500 banking products across 110 providers for savings accounts.

Matthew Ricker, Chief Executive Officer of Australian Unity Bank, said the Freedom Saver account was designed to provide customers with an easy option to grow their savings, with no minimum deposit to achieve a high interest rate.

“Many Australians miss out on receiving a higher interest rate simply because they can’t meet the conditions attached,” said Mr Ricker.

“We wanted to take the complexity out of saving and help people feel rewarded no matter how frequent or small their savings might be.”

Vipin Bhatia, General Manager, Strategic Initiatives & Commercial Banking said the company was proud to be recognised with a Finder Banking Award, standing out over 500 banking products.

“This accolade is a testament to our teams’ commitment to providing competitive and customer focused financial solutions,” said Mr Bhatia.

Australian Unity’s Freedom Saver Account has a standard variable interest rate of 4.85% p.a. There are no account keeping fees or minimum deposit requirements.1

Withdrawals from Australian Unity’s Freedom Saver Account can be made via a linked Healthy Banking Everyday Transaction account. Funds up to $250,000 are covered under the Government Deposit Guarantee Scheme.

The Finder Banking Awards 2025 use its proprietary Finder Score ratings methodology to recognise market-leading savings accounts, term deposits and transaction accounts. More than 500 products across more than 110 providers for savings accounts are compared, assessing multiple features, including interest rates.
