Gastro Medicine & Endoscopy Group (VIC)
Gastro Medicine & Endoscopy Group (VIC) effective from midnight 4th January 2025. This means Gastro Medicine & Endoscopy Group will no longer be an Australian Unity Agreement Hospital from this date.
Genea Hospital Group (ACT/NSW)
Genea Hospital Group (ACT/NSW) effective from midnight 13th December 2024. This means Genea Hospital Group will no longer be an Australian Unity Agreement Hospital from this date.

At Australian Unity, we’re committed to delivering affordable health insurance that provides value for money and supports our members with cost-of-living pressures. While we’re disappointed with the termination, we remain steadfast in keeping premiums affordable for our members.
What does this mean for you?
Our current agreement remains in place until the effective termination date listed above. Until this time, health insurance members are still able to access services without incurring any additional out-of-pocket costs. Thereafter, members who choose to use the listed hospitals may experience higher gap payments.
How does this affect you?
If you have treatment pre-booked at a hospital listed above before the effective termination date, you will continue to be covered under the current contract in the following circumstances:
• If your treatment commenced prior to effective termination date
• If you have pre-booked a procedure for an admission within 6 months of the terminati0n date
• Patients who are already undergoing a course of treatment
• If you require an emergency admission within 3 months of the terminati0n date
• To avoid significant out of pocket costs, you can discuss with your doctor if it is possible to have your treatment at one of Australian Unity’s Agreement Hospitals; or
• Proceed with treatment at a terminating hospital listed above. In this case, you will still receive benefits for your hospital admission but are likely to incur significant out-of-pocket costs. The hospital is required to explain these costs to you and provide you with informed financial consent.
Supporting our members
We are working closely with affected members to ensure they can continue to receive any scheduled and ongoing care. Australian Unity still has agreements in place with around 480 hospitals and day surgeries across Australia.
